Chef Matt Regan

After years of schooling in Classical Guitar, Chef Matt Regan taught and played in Charlotte for 5 years before moving to New Orleans in 2002. Once in New Orleans, he desperately wanted to start cooking and he worked at the Victoria Inn in Lafitte for seven years. He spent his time in Lafitte learning about the local seafood, whether from the softshell crab factory right down the road or finding the best picked crabmeat at Higgins Seafood. Esteemed food writer and critic, Gene Bourg, introduced Chef Regan to Chef Steve McHugh, then the Executive Chef of Lüke, at the Gretna Farmers Market. Chefs McHugh and Besh were thrilled to welcome Chef Regan to the team and he worked at American Sector and Steak House before returning to Lüke ultimately to assume the role of Executive Chef, where he continues to earn stellar reviews from diners and critics alike.
